The City owns and operates four parking garages, two of which have attached surface lots. The four parking garages contain a total of 1,956 spaces.

The City owns and operates 13 surface parking lots containing a total of 818 spaces. There are three un-staffed, standalone hourly lots.

Republic Parking System is enforcing the City of Durham's On Street Parking ordinances within the Downtown loop and the controlled residential parking areas around the Duke East Campus and NCCU.

Call 919-680-2481 with questions regarding a parking citation. Durham police issue citations outside of these areas.

Appeal a Citation

The parking program has set up an administrative appeal process for individuals who believe their parking citation has been issued in error. 

Individuals will be contacted in approximately five to six business days after the citation appeal form has been submitted regarding the disposition of the appeal. The parking fine will hold at the original amount until you receive notice from our office regarding the disposition of the appeal. 

Appeals are only accepted within 30 days after the date of the citation issuance.
